Practical Consciousness Advanced Studies

with Ingvar Villido

The goal of the advanced studies webinars is to open up a broader perspective of the Practical Consciousness teachings for practitioners, delve into the details, expand the application of techniques, demonstrate connections between different aspects of the method, and support graduates of all levels in a deeper understanding of the possibilities and depths of self-development.

Ingvar has discovered his knowledge through practical exploration, application, and teaching. Each advanced training session is, therefore, a practical guide on how to:

  • Discover more about yourself and increasingly base your life activities on the True Self
  • Reduce the impact of automatic reactions or disruptive emotions and thoughts
  • Learn to see and utilize practical connections between different parts of the method
  • Learn to cross-utilize techniques from different courses

“My role is to help you in areas that have remained unclear,” says Ingvar.

You have already taken several good steps by participating in Practical Consciousness courses and practicing. Take the next one: dive deeper, explore, experiment, understand, see connections, find new inspiration, and consciously enhance the stable ground that consciousness and the True Self offer to your life. All of this is a progressive addition to what you have acquired so far.

Participation in advanced studies requires completion of Practical Consciousness Levels I & II.

Note down any questions that have arisen during your practice here, so Ingvar can address them in the next meeting.

The Depth of Awareness – The Foundation of Intelligence, Wisdom and Inner Clarity

We often hear the phrase: “You need to be aware.”

But what does that actually mean? Is it enough to simply pay attention for a moment — or is there something more behind it?

If we want to truly go deeper into anything, we must first understand — become aware.

This means creating a connection between ourselves and the phenomenon we are observing. That connection is what awareness truly is — the foundation of intelligence and inner clarity.

Developing this ability begins with focus. It is followed by discernment, deeper awareness, and understanding:

What is this about? What am I noticing? What do I need to do?

The ability to become aware exists in all of us.

In some professions, it’s essential — mistakes are not an option. In other situations, it may seem that a moment of noticing is enough.

From the perspective of Practical Consciousness, intelligence is related to how deeply and clearly we are able to become aware — of ourselves, the situation, relationships, or our goals.

In the May advanced studies session, we will explore the depth of awareness and learn how to consciously develop this skill.

Discernment – The Ability to See What Is Hidden
At the heart of awareness lies one essential skill: discernment — the ability to notice differences, identify what something is or isn’t, and perceive subtle nuances where everything may initially seem uniform.
This is something you’ve already explored in the Practical Consciousness courses.

But how far can this ability be developed?

According to yogic science, the power of discernment can become so refined that one can even hear the movement of an electron around the nucleus of an atom. This is not just a metaphor — it points to the extreme precision of inner perception and awareness.

How can we reach this level?

Only through practice.
There is no shortcut or trick that can replace consistent application.

But before we get to the level of electrons, many smaller yet significant acts of discernment await us — in daily life situations, in contact with both the outer and inner world.

In the June advanced study session, we will focus on refining the power of discernment — how to sharpen our attention, make perception more precise, and bring greater clarity to our awareness.
